Our residents need you now more than ever! Give a little extra cheer to long-term care residents this year by helping NHOA gather gifts for residents in Central Kentucky nursing, personal care, and family care homes.

District Ombudsman Lynda Love is collecting blankets for long-term care residents!

Bring throw blankets, lap blankets, and quilts to the Kentucky Legal Aid Office, 1700 Destiny Lane, Bowling Green on Wednesdays from 8:30am-5:00pmContact Lynda for more information at 270-780-8835 or llove@klaid.org.

Silver Bells Gift Drive

The Bluegrass District is collecting gifts for long-term care residents! We need your help collecting blankets, puzzle/coloring books, and pens, pencils, and pencil sharpeners.

Silver Bells Gift Drive

Green River District Ombudsman Heather Mullican invites you to help provide gifts to the residents of three personal care homes! Most residents are men, so they especially need men’s socks and gloves. Other suggested donations include canned soft drinks, chips, lip balm, tissues, snack crackers and cakes, puzzle books, hand lotion, and candy.

Drop off items at the GRADD office, 300 GRADD Way, Owensboro by December 11th, or make a donation by contacting Heather at 270-926-4433 or heathermullican@gradd.com.

Lake Cumberland District

Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne counties

Forgotten Angels

District Ombudsman Cindy Tabor is collecting gifts for personal care home residents who will be alone this holiday season.

Build-a-bag yourself, donate Stocking Stuffers, or make a donation to help make sure every resident receives a gift! Gift bags might include insulated cups, stationery and supplies, instant coffee and supplies, scarves, gloves, toboggans, mini flashlights, playing cards, toiletries, and individually wrapped snacks and candies.

Silver Bells Gift Drive

Purchase District Ombudsman Sarah Dodd is collecting gifts for personal care home residents who will be alone this holiday season.

For items needed, please contact Sarah at 270-251-6120 or sarah.dodd@purchaseadd.org.

You can support the Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency’s 11th annual gift drive in the following ways:

(1) Bring your new, unwrapped items to the NHOA office (3138 Custer Drive, Suite 110, Lexington) Monday through Friday 8am – 4pm.  Leave your gift in our contactless drop box outside our office door.  To protect the residents we serve, please wear a mask when dropping off your gifts.  We are closed November 26-27 for Thanksgiving.

(2)  Shop our Amazon Wish List and your items will be delivered straight to our office! To purchase from the wish list, visit here!


(3) Make a tax-deductible contribution of $25 per resident and we’ll do the shopping for you. You can make an online gift to NHOA by clicking here or send a check to our office.

What do residents want?

Due to COVID-19, we are strictly limiting items we can accept to the following:

  • warm blankets

  • word search, puzzle, and coloring books

  • pens, coloring pencils, and pencil sharpeners

Please bring gifts by Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
