Dear Friends:

The Nursing Home Ombudsman Agency (NHOA) prepared a comprehensive guide to help you and your loved ones become aware of the things you need to know and consider before deciding on a nursing facility placement. Download this guide here: Important Info for Residents

Residents and families tell us that the first few weeks after moving into a nursing facility are perhaps the most challenging. We strive to ease the transition by providing the information in this guide. Remember that you can also learn more about your neighborhood nursing homes by visiting Medicare.gov Nursing Home Compare. Medicare publishes information about every Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing home in the country.

When you have found placement in a nursing facility, please call us at (859)-277-9215 for the name of the ombudsman who serves that facility so that we may provide additional information about residents’ rights.

For more information and guidance, please call our office at (859) 277-9215 and request placement counseling from our certified ombudsmen.
