New COVID-19 Guidance Issued September 10, 2021
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) memo QSO-20-38-NH REVISED 09/10/2021 regarding the Interim Final Rule (IFC), CMS-3401-IFC, Additional Policy and Regulatory Revisions in Response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency related to Long-Term Care (LTC) Facility Testing Requirements was released Friday September 10.
In this version of the latest guidance are:
#1 Revised COVID-19 staff testing is based on the facility’s county level of community transmission instead of county test positivity rate. The frequency of testing has also been updated.
#2 Facilities now have two options to conduct outbreak testing, through either a contact tracing or broad-based testing approach.
